MDDG was founded in 2006 by experienced medical device executives, each with more than 20 years in the industry. Our team includes CEOs, COOs, regulatory and engineering experts – all with proven track records that range from starting up and running their own companies, to collaborating with early-stage companies and meeting the project needs of multinational public corporations.

The company has achieved numerous successes with clients that range in size from major international companies to independent inventors, start-ups, universities and nonprofit organizations. With a focus on devices in Class 1 to Class 3, MDDG offers comprehensive product development as well as services that extend from product conceptualization, through prototyping and manufacturing, to order fulfillment. Management Team

Scott Hampton

Scott Hampton has directed medical product engineering and commercialization for over a decade. He has a number of patents and has started companies in both medical devices and pharmaceuticals. For the last seven years his work has focused on early-phase innovation: structuring companies, negotiating technology licensing agreements, raising capital, building management teams.

Scott serves as Chairman on the boards of Therakine (biologic drug delivery) and Atlanta Catheter Therapies, and is a founder of MDDG. Many of the business methods that MDDG uses are based on his research work in effective innovation of medical products. Scott received a BS in Engineering from Harvey Mudd College and an MS in International Manufacturing Management from the University of California, San Diego.
Don White

In his role with MDDG, Don has built an extensive network of entrepreneurs, investors, subject matter experts, support organizations and service providers. Not only does this give Don the ability to locate the most efficient and cost-effective means of accomplishing a goal, it also gives him a breadth and depth of experience in the medical device field that is unmatched in the Southeast.

Don has been a business owner for over 30 years, with experience in custom part and custom product development for both mechanical and electronic products. His expertise lies in the ability to take these products through every aspect of manufacturing and assembly. Don’s knowledge spans a wide range of electronic and mechanical engineering; product assembly and integration (mechanical products, wire harnesses and box builds); injection molded plastic parts; thermoformed plastic parts; precision and machined parts and fixtures; sheet metal parts; and springs and stampings. His knowledge makes him effective in a diverse group of industries including medical, telecommunications, traffic control, nuclear power and industrial applications.
Jorge Almirall

Jorge Almirall is a successful entrepreneur with 20 years of experience developing electro-mechanical products and related product lines. Jorge understands the sense of urgency necessary to bring product to market quickly and successfully because he has worked with startup companies and his own consulting firm for the past 17 years.

In his career, Jorge has developed electro-mechanical product lines for the following industries: military, telecommunications, satellite, commercial, medical, homeland security, cosmetic, pharmaceutical and food and beverage. In addition to being a founder of MDDG, Jorge owns Design Help, Inc., an electronic product development firm he founded in 1996. Jorge holds and has pending US Patents in several industries such as Medical, Cosmetic and Automotive and holds bachelors and masters degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Paul J. Fitzpatrick

Paul J. Fitzpatrick is a success-driven leader and innovative strategist with exceptional ability to transform concepts to fruition by effectively implementing strategic and tactical methodologies that enabled corporations to generate substantial revenue, increase productivity and operational efficiency, improve performance processes and resolve critical challenges. With twenty four years of diverse, entrepreneurial business, and healthcare experience he has a proven track record of delivering results. During his career, senior leadership positions he has held have been: Founder, CEO, President, Board of Directors, COO and EVP. Pau'ls background also includes numerous start-ups, turnarounds, roll-ups, integration of acquired companies, multi-site and state operations, public, private and venture backed financings total over $30 million, medical devices, clinical and patient care services, international recruiting & staffing, developing numerous strategic alliances, education and completing over 20 M&A transactions with a combined value in excess of $100 million.

Paul is a graduate of the Daniel Freeman Hospital Paramedic School earning his board certification as a National Registered Paramedic and holds a degree in paramedic technology from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts where he served as an adjunct faculty member for 10 years.
